Royal Air Force

Introduction

IMG_7587%202_edited.jpg

Welcome to the Royal Air Force Catholic Chaplaincy pages of the Bishopric website. It is truly an exciting time to be a Catholic, and indeed a Catholic Chaplain, in the Royal Air Force. As Principal Catholic Chaplain (RAF) I am truly blessed to be surrounded by amazing people, lay and clergy, who are bursting with love for God and who are passionate about sharing with each other their Catholic faith.

Some friends and I wish to share with you something of the Catholic ethos and mission that we enjoy and seek to promote among the RAF family. You will be introduced to some active groups and associations who are hard at work making God's love known and a lived experience.

I hope you will gain an insight into many of the initiatives, activities and events that are happening. These range from single Service Catholic, or single Service ecumenical; from Tri-Service Catholic, or Tri-Service ecumenical; also shared events between military chaplaincy and civilian churches.

Let me  finish this welcome by saying that the Church is indeed alive within the RAF community and that the Holy Spirit is dynamically at work among us, helping us to bring the message of Jesus Christ to those we encounter. Enjoy what you discover here and do get in touch, whether to simply say hello or to ask for prayers to be said, or of course to get involved in the life of Catholic mission in the Royal Air Force.
