RAF Police Association Annual Service of Remembrance
National Memorial Arboretum
On Monday 23rd June 2025, Padre Dave Skillen, Senior Chaplain at RAF Cosford and the Principal RC Chaplain (RAF), led the RAF Police Association’s Annual Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum. The Service remembers former members of the RAF police community who have died and prays for those currently serving in the RAF Police. In addition, individually named memorial stones are dedicated for those who have died recently. Organisers say this years’ service was the biggest one yet and they are delighted to see that it is a growing annual event. The Service was attended by RAF Police Association members, bereaved family members and current serving RAF Police personnel. Attendees travelled from all over, even from as far away as Bulgaria. Padre Skillen said, “It is always such a privilege to lead veterans and currently serving personnel in an act of remembering. Most moving is the opportunity to sit with grieving family members and RAF colleagues as they try to come to terms with such painful losses. The chaplain is call to accompany them all and to be a sign of hope in sad times.
