The 66th International Military Pilgrimage to Lourdes
21 to 25 May 2026

Bishop Paul once again led the UK Contingent from across the quad-force on the International Military Pilgrimage (IMP) to Lourdes.  Centred around the theme of 'Sentinels of Peace' the gathering brought together thousands of serving personnel, veterans, and military chaplains from over 40 nations.  

 

The IMP serves to foster a sense of fraternity and spiritual healing and allows the time and space to join our prayers with Our Lady's in praying for peace and reconciliation.  There is a full programme arranged for the weekend including Masses, devotions, and sports competition.

 

Perhaps the highlight for many is the torchlight procession, the military bands and parades, and the opportunity to meet and to socialise with the participants from the other services and nations.

 

The dates for the 2027 IMP have just been announced: 20 to 24 May.  Please contact your chaplain for further information or to register your interest.
